Let's take a moment to highlight the incredible efforts of our CNE students this spring and summer as they care for various animals in preparation for the fair.
Our elementary students have been busy raising, feeding, training, and caring for animals such as alpacas, sheep, chickens, pigs, cows, rabbits, and goats. This hands-on experience not only teaches them responsibility but also allows them to showcase their hard work in showmanship and breed/market shows.
In showmanship, students are judged on their ability to present their animals and demonstrate their knowledge of the species. In breed/market shows, judges evaluate the animals based on their characteristics, so it's crucial for our students to position them to highlight their best traits. The dedication is evident as students spend countless hours preparing their animals, even though their time in the ring is often just a few minutes.
CNE Elementary is proud to report that many of our students earned ribbons for their projects in both categories, showcasing the skills and lessons they learned throughout the season.
