Given the recent events in Michigan, along with local threats against schools in our area, we understand that families may be experiencing a heightened sense of apprehension about school. Please take a few moments this weekend to have a conversation with your child around mental health and safety. Clermont Northeastern participates in the “Speak Up, Save Lives” program through the Ohio School Safety Center. Students and families can call or text the statewide hotline - 844-SAFEROH - to report anything that is suspicious or endangering in the community or school. We also ask families to spend some time discussing the seriousness of making threats. Many of the recent incidents in the local area are ending with drastic changes to normal operating procedures at school and serious consequences for the students involved in the threats.
The holidays can be stressful, and navigating student mental wellness can also be hard. Please take time to check in on each other. Clermont Northeastern provides mental health services for students during the school day. We also have a partnership with Harness Health Partners. Harness Health Partners provides the district a Student Assistance Program designed to help students and families with student life. Our program allows families to get support in a variety of ways.
Families can call 855-695-2817 anytime to talk with a counselor. They can help families with a variety of concerns and/or talk to the student directly. Services are in real time over the phone and can connect you to other resources and services offered.
You can also go online to MyLifeMatters.com and use password “rockets” to log in to access helping information such as articles, webinars, and even calculators.
Finally, you can text “hello” to 61295 to be connected to a counselor. However, this should not be used for emergency use. Families are also able to utilize 6 in person visits with mental health counselors for their student per issue per year.
