First grade teacher, graduate of Clermont Northeastern High School, CNE's varsity volleyball coach, and a textbook Capricorn, Miss Keough shares a bit about herself.

  • What would the students be surprised to find out about you?
  • -Most students know I LOVE volleyball and played in college but they may be surprised to know that I danced for most of my younger childhood. I did ballet and tap. I then became a competitive Highland (Scottish) dancer. It was not my thing so I kept trying new things until I developed my passion for volleyball.
  • What are some pets you’ve had or would like to own?
  • -I have always had a cat since I was little. I currently have one cat named Sassy. I am not a dog person but can't see myself ever not having a cat.
  • Are there any embarrassing teaching moments you’re willing to share? What are they?
  • -I have had my fair share of embarrassing moments but one that I'll never forget was when I thought I was cleaning up a water spill only to find out from Mrs. Cooper that the "spill" needed a mop and I shouldn't touch it because someone didn't make it to the restroom in time.
  • What sort of morning routine do you have to get jazzed for class?
  • -If I'm feeling extra tired or moody, I always crank up the radio on the way to work and belt out whatever is on my playlist next.
  • What inspires you?
  • -My students inspire me to become a better teacher. They always believe in me and make me feel like I'm the best teacher so I'm inspired to work harder to live up to their expectations. My co-workers inspire me to be the best version of myself. Their passion and love for education and for children inspires me to make sure I am always doing this job for the right reasons.

  • What kind of driver were you when you first got your license?
  • -I was the same kind of driver I am now, a careful (granny) driver. I always set my cruise to the exact speed limit. I may not get there fast but I never have to worry about getting pulled over.
  • If you were to be given a superlative when you were in school, what would it have been?
  • -Most Likely to Follow All the Rules
  • What is your spirit animal?
  • -I'm not sure I have a spirit animal but my nickname has always been Moose, so I'll go with that :)
  • What song do you know all the lyrics to?
  • -Let it be known that I absolutely cannot sing. I do jam out in my car and can remember the lyrics to most songs. I could probably win a CNE Teacher Lip-Sync Contest.
