Amanda Beuke (Bischoff) is still a newlywed having gotten married to her longtime beau over the summer.  She has played many roles here at CNE Elementary and shares her positive attitude with everyone with whom she comes into contact.  Mrs. Beuke shares a little bit about herself...

  • How do you spend your summer breaks?

    • I spend my summer breaks soaking up the sun poolside.  I also enjoy rainy days that force me to clean out sections of my house, catch up on work tasks, and watch movies.

  • What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies?

    • I love Jodi Picoult books.  She has this way of writing that tells the same story from multiple perspectives.  The first book I ever read from her was  My Sister’s Keeper in college.  It was love at first read!

  • What can you cook to perfection? Are you willing to share the recipe?

    • I make amazing buffalo chicken dip.  My hubby wishes I would write down the precise recipe but it is made with love and artistry.  I also have never been able to make a single batch- my family functions require a triple batch!!!!

  • What makes a ‘good day’ at school?

    • I am an intervention specialist at the Elementary so defining a “good day” is challenging.  Part of what I love about my job is the inconsistencies in needs and schedules.  It allows everyday to be different and good in its own way.

  • How do you keep things fresh?

    • I like to keep things fresh by not having files for units.  While there are those staple lessons I tend to reuse, I prefer to embed some thematic, seasonal touches to core concepts.  Sometimes I wish I was able to do more of the escape rooms, games, and discovery learning, BUT there seems to be so much content to cover and gaps to close.

  • If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

    • Teaching behavior and social emotional learning these days gives me the opportunity to pass along wisdom through so many activities we do.  Two of my favorite mottos these days are…. 1. “Own it, fix it, and move on/ do better” and 2. “Sometimes we just need to suck it up and get it done so it is over”.

  • What’s a school sport or activity you enjoy watching?

    • I played softball and volleyball in school so I really enjoy watching those sports.  I am also a sucker for a good baseball, basketball, or football game.

  • What kind of driver were you when you first got your license?

    • I was not the best driver when I first got my license.  I was the last of 4 kids to drive and learned too much from my older siblings.  I had a couple accidents and tickets- trust me young drivers, the money to fix those was not helpful to me getting things I wanted!!!!

  • How do you think students will remember you and your class?

    • I think my students will remember me and my role in their education as supportive and lifelong learning that they use.  I try to keep the skills and strategies practical for everyday use and believe me they see me deep breathing and using tools to regulate emotions every day.
