Mrs. Putnam claims to bleed blue and gold because she's been a Rocket for so long-she went to school K-12 at Clermont Northeastern and has been teaching here since 1993. She is the oldest of five kids who all went to CNE as well, married to the same guy since 1996, and has one son, Joey, who is a junior at UC. A fourth grade teacher for the past 27 years, Mrs. Putnam loves to read, create, and help others as well as long walks on the beach and fun with family and friends. Read on to learn a few fun facts about her.
I’m not sure it counts as a hidden talent, but I love to make quilts, especially t-shirt and memory quilts.
I love animals, especially dogs! I currently have 2-my German Shepherd, Tucker, and my supermutt, Piper. My family has also had lizards and chickens.
My dream vacation is anywhere my family is, but I’d really love to visit Greece and Italy someday.
I spend summer breaks with friends and family on vacation and at the pool. I love going to the beach as much as I love exploring places I’ve never been.
I love cooking, but don’t think I cook anything to perfection. Trying new recipes or tweaking old ones makes me happy.
If I won the lottery and gave up teaching, I would travel to all the places I haven’t been yet, spend time with my family, and do things I enjoy like cooking, sewing, and reading.
My favorite meal from the cafeteria is grilled cheese and tomato soup with a side of pickles and a carton of white milk.
My students and fellow teachers inspire me to learn more and be creative in the classroom.
One of my favorite topics to share with my students is Greek mythology. I love reading the myths
When I was in high school, I was voted Most Likely to Succeed my senior year. Nailed it!
Astrology is fun. I am definitely a Capricorn and also meet the textbook description of an oldest child.
Knowing the lyrics to songs is definitely not my forte. I used to sing Ampersand instead of Cumbersome (Stone Temple Pilots) and Super Salad Bar instead of Suicide Blonde (INXS). I can probably sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer all the way through though.
At the end of the day/year, I hope my students know how much I care about them.
