Welcome to the home of the Rockets. Clermont Northeastern Schools K-12 is located on a three-building campus at the intersection of US 50 and Hutchinson Road, approximately 3 miles east of Owensville. The Preschool and Professional Development Center are located in Owensville at the intersection of State Rt 132 and State Rt 276.

CNE will provide all students with a safe and nurturing environment. Each school will provide all students a stimulating learning environment that is aligned to the state standards and rigorous. This will allow our graduates to meet the challenges and high expectations needed to thrive in the 21st century.

CNE, in partnership with the community, will provide students with the skills and exploratory experiences that enable them to reach their fullest potential. To accomplish this, the CNE staff will:

The CNE School District is funded primarily by both local taxes and state support. A small amount of the overall budget comes from the federal government to support the Title I remedial programs in reading and math.

Approximately 55% of the District's funds are derived from local taxes. These taxes are in two forms. Property owners are assessed based on 20 mills of taxation. In addition, all residents pay a 1% Income Tax to the District. Unlike a city earnings tax, the income tax is paid only by residents of CNE, regardless of where they work, and is not paid by people who work in the District but live elsewhere.

The property tax bills are sent from the Clermont County Treasurer's Office to each residence. The school income tax is paid yearly by filing a school district income tax return with the Ohio Department of Taxation. Many individuals have the income tax deducted from their paychecks by their employers. Employers, even those located outside the District, are required to offer this payroll deduction to their employees upon request of the employee.

Almost all of the remaining 45% of the District's budget comes from the State. The School Foundation Program is administered by the Ohio Department of Education, as promulgated, and funded by, the Ohio General Assembly.

The CNE District is a member of the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development. As such, CNE students (primarily juniors and seniors) have access to almost 50 career training programs. The nearest Great Oaks campus (Live Oaks) is located near Milford. The majority of CNE students who study at Great Oaks attend the Live Oaks campus. Students may also attend another campus if the program of interest is not offered at Live Oaks. Transportation to the Oaks campuses is provided at no cost to the students. Training programs available through Great Oaks include: Art, Printing, and Communications Technology, Automotive and Power Technology, Business Technology and Marketing, Construction and Maintenance, Consumer and Community Service, Environmental Science and Agriculture, Health, and Industry and Engineering. In addition, the vocational program, Agricultural Science is available at CNE High School.

The Clermont Northeastern Local School District is committed to providing a free appropriate public education to children with disabilities identified in accordance with applicable state and Federal, rules and regulations. Eligibility for special education services is based on the presence of a disability that results in the child's need for specially-designed instruction and/or related service such as speech, occupational, and/or physical school-based therapy. A student's disability must have an adverse effect on his/her academic performance to such a degree that special education and related services must be considered in order for the student to be successful in school. Not all children who have a disability require special education and related services. Many are able to participate in the classroom with few or minor modifications.

The district's Child Find policy requires that all children between birth and twenty-two (22) years of age residing within the district, who have a disability, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services are identified, located, and evaluated in accordance with all federal regulations and state standards. For infants and toddlers, a disability means that a child has a delay in one or more of the following developmental areas: adaptive behavior, cognition, communication, physical development, vision, hearing, and/or socio-emotional functioning. For preschoolers and school-age children, a disability means having one or more documented disabilities. These disabilities include:
autism, cognitive disability, specific learning disability, deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, visual impairment (including blindness), and developmental delay.

The district employs special education teachers, psychologists, and speech/language pathologists. In order to operate cost-effectively, the CNE district cooperates with other districts within Clermont County through the CCESC (Clermont County Educational Service Center), to provide additional special education services for multi-handicapped, severe behavior handicapped, hearing handicapped, visual handicapped, and occupationally handicapped. Additional services include psychological services and occupational services. The Clermont Northeastern Local School District receives IDEA funds from the federal government to support the education of students identified with disabilities. The district seeks input from parents and community members as to the expenditure of these funds. District residents who are interested in providing input toward the expenditure of IDEA funding may submit suggestions to Glenda Greene, CNE Director of Special Education.

The CNE District contracts with Petermann. to provide transportation services. There are 19 buses used for the morning and afternoon pick up and deliveries, and 6 buses travel the roads during midday dropping off a.m. Preschool students and picking up p.m. Preschool students, St. Marks kindergarten as well as Live Oaks Midday. State law requires that public school districts provide transportation to residents attending private schools when the private schools are less than 30 minutes away. The run is timed from the public school where the child would normally attend to the private school in question. The run is timed in a school bus and conducted during the period of the day when the run would normally occur.
