Dear CNE Families,
We want to remind you that our reunification exercise is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, and we want to provide you with important details so you know what to expect. This exercise is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
What to Expect:
We will begin the exercise with a lockdown drill followed by a safety video shown to all students. After the lockdown drill, we will transition into the reunification process, where we practice safely reuniting students with their families.
During the reunification exercise:
Bus dismissal will be controlled, with students loaded by bus numbers. Once the buses are loaded, they will depart as normal.
Families who pick up their children will participate in the reunification process at the CNEAA fields, located at 2702 US-50, Batavia, OH 45103. YOU MUST bring your photo ID for verification.
Keep FINALFORMS updated!
Our main goal is to ensure that students, families, and staff are familiar with the reunification process in case of an actual emergency, such as severe weather or other unexpected events.
Opting Out:
If you choose not to participate in this exercise, you may pick up your child early. However, all early pickups must be completed by 1:00 PM before the exercise begins. No students will be released once the exercise starts, and no vehicles will be allowed on campus after 1:00 PM for safety reasons.
Key Details:
Middle and High School families: Please do not arrive at the CNEAA fields before 1:30 PM.
Elementary families: Please do not arrive before 2:30 PM.
Buses will depart approximately 10-15 minutes earlier than usual due to the controlled dismissal process.
If you choose to pick up your child early, they must be off-campus by 1:00 PM.
Why Are We Doing This?
This is a low-pressure, educational exercise designed to help students and families understand the reunification process. It will not include any alarming simulations, and our goal is to keep the experience as calm and clear as possible for everyone involved.
We appreciate your support and cooperation as we work together to create a safe environment for our students. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your building administrator.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership.
